In preparation for a presentation concert on Sunday 5 September in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Cappella Pratensis will be giving a free try-out concert on Saturday 4 September in the Catharijnekerk in Heusden. With beautiful music from the choir book collection of the more than 700-year-old Illustre Lieve Vrouwe Broederschap. During the concert you can read along with the singers in the original music manuscripts on a large screen. An opportunity you don’t get often!
In 2020, the ensemble recorded the second CD in the series The Den Bosch Choirbooks, wit the title Ezekiel’s Eagle, in the surprisingly beautiful acoustics of the Heusdense Catharijnekerk. The album was released in April this year and has already received many favorable international reviews. In this try-out concert, the ensemble takes a selection from this repertoire, with Jean Mouton (ca. 1459-1522) as the central composer.
The CD is available after the concert at a special rate of € 17.50 (normally € 19.95).
