The Goeyvaerts String Trio wins an Edison Award in the category Chamber Music for the cd ‘Stabat Mater’! Other nominees in the same category were Steven Isserlis/Robert Levin & Quatuor Ebene.

In the jury report we can read:
‘The Goeyvaerts String Trio makes Pärt’s Stabat Mater bloom as never before: crystal clear and full of overtones. Also Simeron of Ivan Moody, composed for the trio, is being played and sung in an unbelievably impressive way.’

The TV show on Dutch national television Vrije Geluiden announced the winner and now the Goeyvaerts String Triois heading for the Edison which they will receive on November 29th 2014 at the BUMA Classical Convention in TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht. This will be during the concert of the Goeyvaerts String Trio in the afternoon

Also watch the short video the trio made for their fans and of course the backers who helped them release this production in the Kickstarter campaign: ‘Heading for the Edison’.

In earlier video’s Kris Matthynssens was filmed riding his bike. Now he is riding in something completely different! A small joke just to let everyone know that ‘everything is rolling’. The CD is doing extremely well, already it is a new reference recording for Arvo Pärt’s ‘Stabat Mater’. But also the new piece that was composed especially for the string trio with singers of Ivan Moody ‘Simeron’ is highly impressive!

And now the trio indeed is ‘Heading for the Edison’ getting ready for the festivities.
Congrats to the Goeyvaerts String Trio!
